This two-part opera evening featuring works by Pietro Mascagni and Ruggero Leoncavallo tells a story of love, jealousy and violence. In both stories, betrayed emotions lead to deadly conflicts. Passion and rage drive the characters to make dramatic decisions.

Sophie Kidwell makes her role debut as Lola in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana with the Bern Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Principal Opera Conductor Alevtina Ioffe.

Directed by Anna Bergmann. In Italian with German surtitles.

Premiere on 16th January 2027, followed by 9 further performances on 24th and 30th January, 16th and 21st February, 14th March, 29th April, and 5th, 14th and 23rd May.
